KB Guides are an all-new development based on research by FUJI into the high stresses placed on mid-section or "belly" guides of micro rods. Engineers discovered that in a "power bend", stress moves to the mid-section of the rod and guide failure in this area was an attribute to the smallest foot on most micro guides pulling out from under wrap. KB Guides solve this problem with a broader, notched foot to better match rod diameters in this area of the blank and hold firm against pulling torque that develops when fighting trophy fish.

The KB "Big Foot" Guide is an important part of any K-Series layout. It is designed with a large powerful foot to offset the mid-rod stress documented by Fuji in their research on micro guides. Every K-Series layout should include up to 3 KB guides immediately following a baitcast stripper and at least 1 and often 2 KBs immediately following the reduction train of spinning layouts. For heavier rods, KB guides can be used all the way to the top for added insurance.
